Fast Five: A.A. Wallace

When did you begin making music, and did you ever ponder a different career?

I started Making music in my early teens. Bands like Eric’s Trip and Sebadoh were a big influence to me then with their DIY recordings and songs about subjects I could relate to.

I’ve never really considered another career but had a lot of jobs. Lobster fisherman, Dish Washer, Call center guy etc…

How would you describe your music?

Traditionally informed songwriting styles housed in the sound of the internet.

What have you been up to so far and what can we expect over the coming months?

I’ve been doing a lot of remixes and working on a new album/tracks. you can expect more online releases on soundcloud and bandcamp as well as some videos.

If you could duet with anybody who would it be and why?

If I could pick anyone it would probably be Nancy Whang from LCD and all the other DFA albums. Her voice has an amazing quality that it seems to be able to sit in any mix and sound great.

What’s your desert island disc and why would you take this one album?

Cassius 1999. Every song on it perfect. I haven’t stopped listening to it since it came out.
