When did you begin making music, and did you ever ponder a different career?

My dad showed me the 3 chords you need for ‘everyday’ by Buddy Holly and ‘wild thing’ by The Troggs when I was a kid and I suppose I never looked back… Every couple of years I decide I’m gonna quit and become a psychotherapist and then I don’t.

How would you describe your music?

I was once described in a review as “the prince of doom folk”, So let’s go with that… Although you wouldn’t know it from the chirpy new single.

What have you been up to so far and what can we expect over the coming months?

I’ve released 3 albums and I’m currently writing and recording a 4th. In the next few months I’ll be playing a few shows. trying out some new songs, eating a few hot dogs etc… I’m hoping to put another single out in November if I can get my shit together in time.

If you could duet with anybody who would it be and why?

I did a duet with Gabrielle Aplin on a song called ‘Still Life’ from my last album, that was fun… I’m a big fan of Eric Cantona? Let’s go with Eric Cantona.

What’s your desert island disc and why would you take this one album?

Pink moon by Nick drake saved my life
