How did you meet and what’s the story behind your band name?
We met on the set of a terrible low budget film that Martin was making. A few years later we were married and writing songs! Our name comes from a song title by the band Willard Grant Conspiracy – a great gothic country band from Texas. We emailed them to ask permission and they told us to “wear it well”.
How would you describe your music?
Our music has been described as Backwards Country / Porch Folk. We quite like that.
What have you been up to so far and what can we expect over the coming months?
We have been busy getting the new EP, ‘High Town Crow’, out into the world and playing shows. The next couple of months will involve getting another music video out and writing new material.
If you could duet with anybody who would it be and why?
It would be amazing to something with Will Oldham. Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy has been a huge influence on us and he has a real distinct and beautiful voice.
What’s your desert island disc and why would you take this one album?
The Low Anthem’s ‘Oh My God, Charlie Darwin’. It has everything. It has barn stormers, it has slow burners, the sound of the whole record has beauty and grit and lyrically it cannot be bettered!
