Fast Five: Avery *Sunshine

When did you begin making music, and did you ever ponder a different career?

I started playing piano when I was 8 and composed my first piano piece “La Dream” when I was 11.

How would you describe your music?

My music is a mix of all of the music I have ever experienced. We like to call it “feel good” music… That’s how we feel when we play it. I hope that’s how the listener feels when they listen.

What have you been up to so far and what can we expect over the coming months?

We’ve been touring the US and most recently Dubai. Amazing!!! In addition to that, we’ve been gearing up to release my sophomore project “The SunRoom” on May 26th.  My partner,  Dana Johnson, and I are supremely excited about it and we hope that the world likes it!!!   I will also be visiting the UK  for live dates:  June 20 – Islington Assembly Hall, London N1.  June  21 – Old Market, Brighton

If you could duet with anybody who would it be and why?

Donny Hathaway. He was, and still is, an instrument operating at his highest level. Writer, keyboardist, singer and producer….. It wouldn’t be a real collaboration cause I would be completely out of control!

Whats your desert island disc and why would you take this one album?

Andre Crouch’s latest album “Journey”. The amazing musicianship, heart wrenching lyrics and vocal arrangements provide a complete musical experience for me. Simply awesome.
