How did you meet and what’s the story behind your band name?
I Met Ronnie (lead guitar) back in secondary school and we’ve been joined at the hip ever since, he was in the year above me and was introduced to me through my older brother Olly as he was playing in a band with Rons mates, we quickly came up with a master plan to start our own band and the rest is history. I’ve known Aaron (guitar) since I was 6 we’ve grown up together, he was my little brothers best mate at primary school and happened to live next door to my best mate so we used to meet up at the end of the garden and play football. Me and Ron got to meet George (bass) when we first started rehearsing at his uncle’s studio he used to help clean the place up! George is 6 years younger than me so I think that made him around 13 at the time and I would have never guessed he would end up in the band…he is like my little brother. That just leaves the Dacey brothers….I met Jack (guitar) about 6/7 years ago through the Essex/London gigging scene and There’s a bit of banter between me and him because I didn’t like him at first as my girlfriend at the time had heard him slagging off the band something he firmly denies to this day hahahaha! We got Jack in last summer to add another dimension as he is a great guitarist and singer, tbh it feels like he has been in it for years. Harry (drums) we met through Jack, he was playing in another band at the time and I remember going to a gig for a night out and younger Dacey had all the makings of a great drummer so I just hassled him until he joined the band! The name Electric Child House comes from Ronnie he came back to mine after school one day with it he claims it’s something from medial studies….I’ve never been able to find its meaning….but it’s sounded cool so we rolled with it!!
How would you describe your music?
The music is big rock n roll. It has spacey moments and is a trance but I’ve always felt we were a rock band over a psycadelic band…the roll has always been important to us it’s got groove and live it’s a different beast all together. A wall of noise! When we first started I always wanted people to be able to have a bop and dance and never to be able to talk over it or turn and face the bar even if you hated it haha
What have you been up to so far and what can we expect over the coming months?
We released our first ep Goochie Goochie Goo last June through label white room with a video for the track “soul sucker” to accompany it, over Easter we put out the video for the track “false widow” and that’s gonna be available as free download via music glue on April the 29th as well as a gig coming up on Friday 13th may at cherry cola club in Camden!!
If you could duet with anybody who would it be and why?
If I could duet with anyone in the world……Mr. blobby!? The blobby song was the first tape I ever owned what a birthday present that was….in all seriousness tho the late great Stevie Marriot there’s never been a greater singer and his vocal on “afterglow” is the bench mark!
What’s your desert island disc and why would you take this one album?
There’s so many albums I love and could choose from but when me and my brother have regularly debated this my answer is always oasis definitely maybe, why? Because it’s all killer….if it ain’t broke don’t fix it!
