When did you begin making music, and did you ever ponder a different career?
Coming from a family of musicians, I never really ‘began’ making music – it’s just something that’s always been a part of my life. I started really promoting myself as an artist in 2013 and haven’t looked back since!
How would you describe your music?
I’ve always written from the heart, without tailoring to fit into a specific genre so it’s tricky to say exactly where I fit in. I think the best description would be folk/pop singer-songwriter.
What have you been up to so far and what can we expect over the coming months?
Exploring the world of music and loving it! I’ve been so lucky over the last year to have been across the UK playing at places such as The Bedford, Guildhall, The Wardrobe, The Fleece, and supported artists like JP Cooper, Kal Lavelle, Fiona Bevan, and others. I’m so excited to have just released my third single ‘Faith’, and will be recording and releasing my debut EP over the coming few months.
If you could duet with anybody who would it be and why?
There are so many! But I’d have to say Hozier. His voice is hauntingly beautiful, but his songs are like nothing I’d heard before. There’s an honesty and a passion in his lyrics which is both tragic and beautiful. I could rave about him all day!
What’s your desert island disc and why would you take this one album?
It’d be a close one between Gabrielle Aplin’s ‘English Rain’ and Adele’s ’21’… I think I’d have to go with ’21’ because every song is so different from the last (and let’s face it, everyone loves a good break up song… Or I do, anyway!). There’s soul, blues, pop, everything.
