Fast Five: Foreign Slippers

When did you begin making music, and did you ever ponder a different career?

I write and illustrate children’s books which I enjoy just as much as music. I have been writing music since I was about 17 and it feels like such a big part of my life that i don’t see it as a choice. It is just what I do.

How would you describe your music?

I hope it is dark and beautiful folky pop

What have you been up to so far and what can we expect over the coming months?

Well I have released three eps. ‘Oh Death’ was recorded in a small country church in Sweden with just three of us. Avalanche & It All Starts Now are single eps from the album, with some extra stuff on, like an Abba cover for example. I have played a lot around London with a full band and recently me and Phil Wilkinson finished a tour as a duo, supporting Duke Special on his UK & Ireland tour. We are releasing the record Farewell to the Old Ghosts in June and doing some shows and promo stuff in London and Dublin. Then it is wide open. Probably a tour in September.

If you could duet with anybody who would it be and why?

Tom Petty. Because I would be singing with Tom Petty and that would be brilliant.

What’s your desert island disc and why would you take this one album?

Sadpaw- You Got The Fire. It’s my husband’s record to be released. Mainly because it is insanely brilliant but also because if I was all on my own I would at least have his voice.
