Fast Five: Kongos

MTTM

Triangle

How did you meet and what’s the story behind your band name?

Well each of us met each other when we came out of the womb. We’re all brothers, and our last name is Kongos, and we were too lazy to find another name so we stuck with that.

How would you describe your music?

Jungle-Rock. Alternative rock music with a lot of african and South African influences. There was a DJ in South Africa who coined that term and we thought it fitted our music.

What have you been up to so far and what can we expect over the coming months?

We’ve been touring all year long, and we’re booked all the way until March next year so we’re going to be on the road. We’re opening up for Kings Of Leon in the states and then One Republic in Europe.

If you could duet with anybody who would it be and why?

Stevie Wonder. And then i’d stop singing and listen to him, just so i could hear him play.

What’s your desert island disc and why would you take this one album?

This question is very common, but I’ve never been able to answer it. Probably Bob Marley Legend, even though its a greatest hits album.
