Fast Five: Lion Bark

How did you meet and what’s the story behind your band name?

We ended up in the same classes together at Uni, so that’s how we met, and the band name… well… it’s a lame story but the three of us were hanging out and Guy thought he saw a poo on his bed. He asked what it was and Tom replied saying it was his chocolate bar (A lion related chocolate bar) and Guy just misheard what was said.

How would you describe your music?

Pretty varied. We’re all into such different things musically. At this stage we’ve only released one song and whilst we’re really glad people like it, we hope you won’t mind that future releases are always going to be different from their predecessor.

What have you been up to so far and what can we expect over the coming months?

There’s the never ending writing and recording. For our ears only really, we like our tunes so we tend to record them for us, and then the best ones get selected to be done properly at a studio. But the coming months include videos and a new single so that’ll be fun.

If you could duet with anybody who would it be and why?

As a band we’d have to say Daft Punk. Imagine a Daft Punk version of Two Prongs! (No i can’t either, but it’d probably be kinda good)

What’s your desert island disc and why would you take this one album?

We’re each going to a different desert island:

Guy would take Jeff Buckley – Grace
Turkish would take Nick Drake – Five Leaves Left
Tom would take Beach Boys – Pet Sounds
Zal would take the soundtrack to Castaway
Ozzy would take Syd Arthur – On and On
