How did you meet and what’s the story behind your band name?
The LZ part of the name is LindZ as he fronts the group and 7 is the number for a creation, so basically it means a person is created. So when we are in a school talking about how unique people are there’s a bit of substance to the name I guess! Kinda wanted it to say something really.
How would you describe your music?
Our music is upbeat party music with a twist. I love it when it drops. So much so our new side project/DJ set is called LZ7 presents “The Drop”. Look out for it soon as we launch a remix album of complete bangers and then get on a DJ set. LZ7 DJ’s taking it to the next level!
What have you been up to so far and what can we expect over the coming months?
We just released a single called #Aftershow. Amazing, amazing and thanks for the support! It hit the iTunes top 10 all across Europe. We have a new album to be released end of Sept/beginning of Oct but for those who can’t wait for AUGUST ONLY we have an Aftershow Festival Edition which features 5 tracks for £5 and on Sept 1/2 we release our new single Give Out The Love in partnership with Compassion… Good times! I then hit the road on the A21 Freedom Ride – 1100 km in 11 days across Europe’s trafficking hotspots and our single Joyride is released at the end of the ride w/e OCct 18th. Get involved and follow our Twitter and FB for more details and check out www.light.uk.com
PS – we also set up our own charity and record label called LIGHT.
If you could duet with anybody who would it be and why?
I reckon I probably dusted with the one guy I respect the most in music and that’s Solomon Olds from FF5. They are so good and the single Next Level off their new album is a banger!
What’s your desert island disc and why would you take this one album?
Ed Sheeran’s latest… And Avicii… It would be a fight between those two!
