Fast Five: Miniature Dinosaurs

How did you meet and what’s the story behind your band name?

We all met on cold nights, a predictable setting for any Scottish indie band really. Barry and I on the terraces for a lower league football match, then add in Sam when the three of us were sheltering within the walls of our local music venue in Stirling. We wanted to choose a name that totaled 21 points in Scrabble (excluding treble letter bonuses)

How would you describe your music?

On the face of it, pop music to get people’s heels twitching but with something a little more ambiguous going on beneath the dancefloor.

What have you been up to so far and what can we expect over the coming months?

We’ve been touring mostly, playing shows in Scotland, England and Wales. That means we’ve slept on a lot of interesting floors too. Since back in Scotland we have been pushing our new Turn It On EP, writing some new music for 2013 to hear and preparing to see out 2012 with our Hogmanay show at our hometown’s castle.

If you could duet with anybody who would it be and why?

Dave Lamb, the voice of Come Dine With Me.

What’s your desert island disc and why would you take this one album?

The Very Best of Sue Lawley’s Desert Island Disks, 3 CD box set. Just to appreciate the irony.
