How did you meet and what’s the story behind your band name?

Me & Mat met when touring with previous bands we were in. We decided to just jam out some stuff on our own for a laugh one day and its all just kinda gone from there.

Were both quite big fans of Conan Doyle and after watching the new Sherlock series we just thought Moriarty suited what we were doing musically. Unfortunately there’s another band with the same name, so we dropped the second ‘r’.

How would you describe your music?

FILTHY

What have you been up to so far and what can we expect over the coming months?

We have spent the last year or so developing after we released our first EP (The Lord Blackwood EP). Its not a fair representation of us now, were a lot more furious. So we’ve been writing, gigging and we’re doing our next EP with John Cornfield next week. We have some collaborations coming out soon and we’re currently about to release our tune Mindsweeper for free download from our website on Feb 15th. Nonetheless, watch this space…

If you could duet with anybody who would it be and why?

Ha ha, I sort of alluded to that above. If I’m honest, ODB would have been the one. Other than that we’re always keen to work with people, its a lot of fun doing tracks with other people in mind. It forces you to think differently and opens the music up a bit, its great.

What’s your desert island disc and why would you take this one album?

For me, Bizarre Ride II The Pharcdye. Its always been an album that’s never far away from my playlist. I managed to see them perform the whole thing in Bristol the other day and it was incredible. Its just a really nice album, got some great beats, great rhymes, never fails to make you feel good!!!
