How did you meet and what’s the story behind your band name?
We all live in Northampton. We all like Weezer, and most of us like alcohol. It was inevitable really.
As for our band name, we decided on OhBoy! because The Rolling Stones and Lawnmower death were already taken. Apparently.
How would you describe your music?
Why on earth would we want to do that? So the deaf can dislike us too? Lolz. Ohhhh… alright then… like the Pixies and Mclusky playing songs by The Cure and Pavement. But not half as bad as that sounds.
What have you been up to so far and what can we expect over the coming months?
We’ve just signed to Alcopop records and released our first single with them, so we’re currently playing some gigs to promote that. Next up we’ll be in the studio recording our next single. We’re really looking forward to playing in some towns and cities further afield in the near future. If anyone will have us…
If you could duet with anybody who would it be and why?
We’d love to do a REALLY lo-fi record with Lana del Ray.
What’s your desert island disc and why would you take this one album?
Hang on… Let’s think about this. If I’m stuck on a desert island, how come I’ve got the facilities to play a record or CD?
On the other hand I’m constantly told that I’m an awkward bugger and that I should be nicer… so I’d have to say ‘The Best of The Beatles’ because it’s always nice to end an interview with an Alan Partridge reference.
