When did you begin making music, and did you ever ponder a different career?
As soon as I realised that there was such a thing and got over the ‘where am I!?’ I love to ponder, but its usually about other things.
How would you describe your music?
Soft and lovely, a blanket of warmth to replenish you from a hard day, or console you form a hurtful one – meant to be restorative, true, gentle, and if all that comes together at moments, well then uplifting in a very hearted, even quiet way.
What have you been up to so far and what can we expect over the coming months?
So far I haven’t come close to figuring out the ‘where am i?’ so am essentially getting on with things – making Videos – writing – playing – remembering its ok to follow the creative, however absurd it may seem. The next few months is the Release of Heartsong, a tour with Sandi Thom, trip to LA and NewYork, finishing off the Cinematic Orchestra tracks and Festi’s.
If you could duet with anybody who would it be and why?
Either one of my kids or Daisy, because i love them so much and they bring me immediately to heart, or Lisa Hannigan because I love her tone, or Lucy Rose or Anna Mcluckie, because amongst other things, the blend between intricate guitars and the harp is very very interesting to me. They are all super lovely and gifted and they say you should always surround yourself with people that are much better than you. So many gifted people here.
What’s your desert island disc and why would you take this one album?
Assuming I cant record onto it and take a blank cd, because the joy of making wins easy… then ..mmm.. im in the sun with endless peaceful sea and wind sounds, so I wont need peace, something timeless and brilliant on its 1000th listen … I got it …” Legend”, Bob Marley should keep things super shanty sweet and be endlessly uplifting in the summer heat. Bless you guys, cheers. x
