When did you begin making music, and did you ever ponder a different career?

I first began making music when I was 16 years old and joined my first band. At that age there was no other thought in my head than to become a drummer/musician and fulfill my dream. I formed my first band in 1985; I wrote my first song Cheater that year.

How would you describe your music?

Currently the music is very much in its own style. It is difficult to label it but that is a good thing, in that it will find its own direction over time. Many people say it has a Blues, Neo /Soul, Soft Jazz feel to it, but ultimately it is unique to Tayo Irvine Hendrix and for the moment that is the best way to describe it. Vocal wise people have compared it to Heather Small, Angie Stone, Sade, Grace Jones and many more but it is down to the individual as to how they hear it and rate it.

What have you been up to so far and what can we expect over the coming months?

We have been promoting the single on the radio and in the coming months will be doing live shows and appearances to promote the single and album. We are currently preparing video footage to go with the single and album tracks and hope you will all look forward to seeing them when they are complete. It is exciting times for us here!

If you could duet with anybody who would it be and why?

There are a couple of people I would love to duet with. I have been asking this a lot lately, my answer today would be Cee Lo Green because I love his voice and think he looks like a cool dude!

What’s your Desert Island Disc and why would you take this one album?

My Desert Island Disc would be Tibetan Incantations and why..? Because we all need to still the mind from time to time!
