How did you meet and what’s the story behind your band name?
We met in East London in 2014. I (Luke – vocals, guitar) am from Perth, Western Australia and the other two members both named Ed, (bass guitar and drums) are from Brazil. The band name can when i was trying to order a Blue Moon beer at a bar in San Diego and in the state i was in i slurred out ‘The bloom’ instead when asked what i wanted. I thought that would be a good name for a band if i ever started one and years later here we are!
How would you describe your music?
Our music is indie rock/pop with a bit of an electro, americana vibe thrown in there depending on the track.
What have you been up to so far and what can we expect over the coming months?
We have just released a new song and video called ‘In The Sky’ and have a few more singles up our sleeve before we release our debut Ep in the summer of 2017.
If you could duet with anybody who would it be and why?
It would have to be Damian Rice. The guy has the most amazing voice and it be amazing to share a song with him.
What’s your desert island disc and why would you take this one album?
The Beatles white album easily. It’s got everything! blues, rock, folk, slow stuff, fast stuff. Even the drum beat on Lady madonna is straight hip hop. any time you feeling like listening to something different it’s on their somewhere.
