When did you begin making music, and did you ever ponder a different career?
I began around the age of 12 or 13. I always wanted to make music, but I did question it a few years ago when I felt the subject matter was becoming self indulgent. I contemplated charity work or something that I felt could make a positive impact on the world. It was around this time I started writing with a more conscious lyrical approach, tackling world issues and global politics which gave what I was doing meaning and purpose.
How would you describe your music?
Sagacious garage punk.
What have you been up to so far and what can we expect over the coming months?
We’ve finished the record, played over 100 gigs and recently we’ve been playlisted on BBC Radio One. Now we’re moving into the summer festival season and have a few more releases are in the pipeline prior to our debut album.
If you could duet with anybody who would it be and why?
Neil Young, because he is a huge inspiration and a lyrical genius.
What’s your desert island disc and why would you take this one album?
Lola Versus Powerman by The Kinks. It’s such an amazing, varied record with plenty of replay-ability. I hear something new with each listen; that’d be pretty important if you only had one album to listen to for the rest of your life!
