Following in the footsteps of KT Tunstall and Amy MacDonald, singer/songwriter Carly Connor is flying the Saltire for Scotland as one of the exciting and emerging talents of 2012. Signed to Atlantic Records, Carly has been shaping her debut offering between London and Nashville for the past 2 years and is preparing for its hotly anticipated release later this year.
Carly has gained warm reception from both critics and gig punters alike and has steadily built an army of fans, particularly in her native Glasgow. She has also attained prominent support slots for fellow Scots Paolo Nutini and The View, and offered audiences stellar performances at both Rockness Festival and Arthur’s Day in Dublin.
Performing live since the young age of 11, Carly has drawn on her experiences of growing up in Glasgow to develop her unique and exhilarating sound. She delivers melt-in-the-mouth husky tones that ooze maturity beyond her 19 years, earning her favourable comparisons to Janis Joplin.
This February see Carly’s first headline tour including two dates in Glasgow’s West End – one of which has already sold out. Carly Connor has a bright future ahead in 2012 and beyond, bringing a much-needed and unique breath of fresh air to the UK music scene.
