Tulisa Contostavlos has been arrested on suspicion of supplying drugs.

B52’s Singer Sick

Cindy Wilson of 80s band B52’s has revealed details that she is ill. Whilst Wilson’s illness is not life threatening, the singer will be taking some time off as per doctor’s orders which means that current gig plans have been cancelled.

NIN Guitarist Quits

Adrian Belew, the guitarist with Nine Inch Nails has quit the band.

Album News

Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys has announced details to release a new solo album.

Sebadoh are set to release their first album in over a decade. The band last released an album 14 years ago. The new album, Defend Yourself, is due for release in September and will be released through Domino.

David Lynch is due to release a new album. The album will feature a collaboration with Lykke Li.

Mariah Carey will release a new album next month.

Kings of Leon’s new album Mechanical Bull has been given a release date. It will be released 24th September 2013 and does not stick with the tradition of having a five syllable title like their previous releases.

Leanne Mitchell, winner of season one of The Voice released her album this week, managing to shift only 895 copies. A third season of the talent show has already been commissioned whilst the current series semi-finals take place this weekend.

White Lies have announced details of a new album. Big TV will be the third album from the band and will be available in August.

AlunaGeorge are set to release their debut album. Body Music will be released at the end of July.

Sting will release a new solo album in September. The last album he released was Sacred Love in 2003. The new album, The Last Ship, will be released September 24th 2013.

Paris Jackson’s Suicide Attempt

Paris Jackson, the daughter of the late Michael Jackson has attempted suicide. It is presumed that the 15 year old attempted suicide by overdose.

Apple Launch Streaming Site

Apple are due to announce a new streaming site to rival the recently uploaded Google site and Spotify. iRadio will be ready for launch this week.

Modest Mouse Cancel UK Tour

Modest Mouse have announced that they will be cancelling their UK tour to concentrate on the completion of their new album. The band revealed the details on their website with the following statement – “After much thought, we have decided to cancel our EU/UK tour to continue work on our forthcoming album. We do appreciate our fans and promise that we will make it up to you next year. Refunds will be available at the point of purchase. We look forward to sharing our new music with the world next year.”

Joey Covington: 1946 – 2013

Joey Covington, the drummer with Jefferson Airplane has died in a car collision. Covington played with Jefferson Airplane from 1970 to 1972.

Ian Watkins Trial Date Set

Lost Prophets singer Ian Watkins has had his trial date set. The singer has been accused of 23 sexual charges which include the raping of a baby. Watkins has denied all charges.

Little Mix Break Record

Little Mix have broken the record that was previously set by the Spice Girls. The X Factor winners have entered the US chart in the number 4 position, the previous highest chart entry position for a UK female group was set by the Spice Girls who entered the chart at number 6. A record that they have held since 1997.

Piano Red C: 1934 – 2013

Blues piano player Piano Red C has passed away. Red C had been paralysed in 2006 when he was shot during a robbery.
