Victoria and David Beckham welcome their fourth child, a little girl, called Harper Seven. She was born in Cedars Sinai Hospital in LA and weighed 7lb 10oz. Congratulations to the Beckham family on their unusually named offspring.
Jon Fratelli’s solo debut album Psycho Jukebox is released later this month. The release set for July 25th sees Scottish fans able to buy the album with five extra tracks which were recorded in Glasgow’s own Terminal Studios.
New artist Juan Zelada is starting to make some noise on the British music scene. His new single Breakfast in Spitafields has been added to Radio 2s A-List which has previously included stars such as Coldplay and Adele.
The bands new single Sirens is out July 11th and with the release the band has also announced the release of their own brand of tea. The band chose to do this due to a withdrawal symptoms from not being able to get a decent cup of tea. the band teamed up with Lea Rosy’s Tea Room – a favourite cafe of the band to create their own special blend of tea which is now available to purchase at http://shop.iliketrains.co.uk/.

The annual iTunes Festival kicked off this week at London’s Roundhouse and already has played witness to some truly memorable performances. Notably Linkin Park has raised a few eyebrows and tips of the hat due to their rendition of Adele’s Rolling in the Deep. The cover set the twitter boards buzzing requesting the band release their version. The band has bowed down to the pressure and accolade and the band’s version will be released as part of the iTunes Festival EP exclusive to iTunes and available to download now.
All About Tonight is the new single from Pixie Lott and will be premiered on UK radio today. It will be followed by teasers of other songs featured from her new album which will be released later this year on November 7th. Check out www.pixielott.com for more details.
The November tour secured by Friendly Fires is set to have SBTRKT and Chad Valley as the support act on all dates except November 26th. As the gig scheduled for that date is a special event the line preceding the bands set is different for the rest of the tour. The line up supporting Friendly Fires at the Brixton Academy gig are Little Dragon and Tensnake both doing live sets and a DJ set from Wild Geese. Corey Taylor will be reading an extract from his new book Seven Deadly Sins tonight (Monday 11th July) via a live stream. Taylor has proclaimed that the autobiographical book doesn’t play by the conventional rules, much like the singer himself. Arctic Monkeys recently announced that The Vaccines are set to support them on their autumn tour. Other Domino Records band mates Smith Westerns are set to join them on the tour. For details of tour dates please check our previous news section dated Monday 13th June.
MTTM announced dates for the UK leg of The Antlers tour taking place in November but we can now confirm the band have given details of a one off show preceding the tour. The band will play an intimate gig at the Screen on the Green cinema in Islington on August 4th.
Sheffield band Arctic Monkeys have announced an extra date to their tour. The band will now be playing on Sunday 30th October at London’s o2 Arena. The band are also set to release a second single from their recently released album Suck it and See. The Hellcat Spangled Shalalala is due for release August 15th and the video is now available for viewing.
Washed out’s album Within and Without is released today and to coincide with the release Rough Trade East are inviting people to come to a bed-in set to promote the album. Customers can come, get comfy and listen to the album. The bed sheets are a copy of the album sleeve and fans are invited to copy the album cover. Ska singer Pauline Black has won a legal battle over the name of her former band which split in 1981, however the comeback shows scheduled for this year are now officially under the name of The Selecter. The bands version of the Amy Winehouse classic Back to Black is set for release July 25th and their new album is said to be released later in the year.
November 30th will see London’s KOKO play host to a special event celebrating 13 years of Memphis Industries, the record label that is home to The Go! Team and The Pipettes along with s plethora of other well known artists. The 13th year anniversary is celebrated in lieu of their 10th birthday which they happened to miss, and since they are a label known for diversity of acts signed to their roster it seems only fitting that they display the labels diversity in this manner.
