Reverend and the Makers front man Jon McClure is doing a live acoustic set this evening and he invites you all to watch. All you have to do is follow him on his twitter account. Read more details from the Rev himself:
“ alright it’s the reverend here
on Monday the 12th September I’m gonna play a lil acoustic gig live on you stream at 9 o’clock. it’s gonna be at my mates den which nowadays is club 60 studios. The cellar is/was the legendary 60,s club 60 where many famous touring artists played their first gig. John Lee hooker was a regular and even John Lennon had a membership card. Put simply it’s the coolest space in the world. untouched by neon advertising and smoking laws. frozen by the time lord in 1962.
How do you get to see the gig? Basically follow me’ @jonmcclure on twitter and introduce a new follower to me’ and I’ll send u the link to watch live. Put simply I’m a boss on twitter and I deserve more followers than Susan Boyle. So get on it and we can have it. “
PJ Harvey was victorious at this week’s Mercury awards winning the much sought after top prize for her album Let England Shake. In a year with such a high calibre of nominations such as Anna Calvi’s self-titled debut and Adele’s successful follow up album 21 then the prize had become all the more coveted. Congratulations PJ Harvey!
It was announced this week that a tour has been planned in the memory of Michael Jackson featuring his brother Tito, sister Rebbie and lifelong friend Let’s Hear It For The Boy singer Denice Williams. The show which will feature a mixture of his music and the performers sharing their Michael memories is produced by Jackson’s best friend David Gest and directed by Andrew Eastel. Keep reading the Music News section each week for more information.
On September 16th a free gig will be held at London’s Village Underground. Called A Typical Day On Golden Beach, the night is set to hold performances from Tribes, T.W.I.N.S and Bikini Invaders among others. Not just said to be a gig, there are other things to capture your attention such as visual and performance art and a chance for you to get involved and capture the night on camera.
