Whitney Houston: 9th August 1963 – 11th February 2012

American soul singer Whitney Houston died hours before her hotly anticipated performance at this year’s Grammy awards. The singer, who released her self-titled debut album in 1985 and has since released seven other albums including the soundtrack to The Bodyguard. Along with a music career that has spanned nearly three decades Houston had a successful movie career and starred in five movies.

Pulp Honoured at NME Awards

Brit Pop act Pulp are to be honoured at this year’s NME awards. The band will be award the gong for their outstanding contribution to music.

Killswitch Engage Announce New Singer

Killswitch Engage have announce the details of the new singer with the band. Jesse Leach, who was the vocalist on the bands’ first and second albums, has returned to the fold. The band had this to say about his return: –

“This change is very exciting. We know you’re going to love it. This is truly a new era in KsE history and it is ready to shred your face off. So, please help us in welcoming Jesse back into the KsE family; he is a rare and great talent, a fact that older KsE fans have known for years. Here is to a killer new record and a bright future. Jess Morgan’s Pledge Album

Folk singer Jess Morgan has sent out a plea to her fans to help raise the funds so she can independently release her album Aye Me. This is increasingly becoming a route which artists are taking rather than struggling to find record labels to take a chance on them they are pushing their own music with the aid of their followers. Latitude Line-Up to Be Revealed March 5th

The annual Latitude Festival will be revealing some of the acts performing there this year on March 5th. Tickets for the event will go on sale the same day. The festival includes many areas of performance such as Music, Arts, Comedy and Film among others. This years’ festival will take place at Henham Park in Suffolk from the 12th – 15th July 2012. Dizzee Rascal to Support Foo Fighters

The support for Foo Fighters up-coming shows has been announced. Dizzee Rascal will be performing at the bands two stadium shows in Knebworth Park in Stevenage and the Stadium of Light in Sunderland in June this year.
