George Michael Slams Eastenders

Singer George Michael has lashed out at Eastenders and their portrayal of the gay community. He has been quoted as saying “Message to gay kids in Britain. The East End of London is one of the best places on earth to be a modern gay man or couple. The relationship between Sayed  and Christian is the most insulting piece of b****** on British television right now.”

Heavy D: 24th May 1967 – 8th November 2011

Heavy D, lead singer with Heavy D and the Boys passed away on Tuesday aged 44. Dwight Arrington Myers was born in Jamaica in 1967 and throughout his career was considered one of the nicest people in rap music. Now That We’ve Found Love was his biggest hit with his band Heavy D and the Boys.

Michael Jackson’s Doctor found Guilty of Involuntary Manslaughter

Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson’s personal doctor has been found guilty on the charge of involuntary manslaughter of the Prince of Pop. He will be sentenced for the crime on November 29th. Michael Jackson died 29th June 2009, aged 50, at his home in Los Angeles, California.

TOWIE Cast Release Christmas Single

The cast of reality TV programme The Only Way Is Essex are set to release a Christmas single. The cast have recorded a version of Last Christmas, originally performed by Wham. It currently holds 6/1 odds at being Christmas number one.

Crunch 2011

November 18 to November 20th sees the annual Art and Music Festival at Hay. A diverse selection of artisans from across the wide spectrum will be gathering for debates, workshops, live performances and much more. The Cure Bestival Release

The Cure are set to release double album of their performance at this year’s Bestival. The album, titled Bestival Live 2011 will be released December 5th in aid of the Isle of Wight Youth Trust and contains 32 live tracks including classics Just Like Heaven, Friday I’m In Love, Inbetween Days and Boys Don’t Cry. It is a must for fans of The Cure.

Frankie Kicked Off X Factor

Frankie Cocozza, the bad boy of this year’s X Factor has been ousted due to his use of drugs and being boastful of this backstage. The contestant who was part of Gary Barlow’s group has continually received backlash from the public and press due to his lacklustre performances and rock and roll antics. As an added twist, the four contestants who were axed in week one have now been asked to rejoin the show, given an extra chance to win the recording contract prize. This has also led to Frankie being skilfully edited out of the current Marks and Spencer’s Christmas advert. The commercial saw the current contestants singing a festive song bringing the festive spirit. The newly edited advert will be sans Mr Cocozza.

EMA’s Hit Belfast

The EMA’s took place this week in Belfast and saw performances from the likes of Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga and Coldplay. The evening saw Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga pick up multiple awards. Winners from the event are listed below.

Justice Tonight

A series of concerts in aid of the Hillsborough Justice Campaign are to be performed before the year ends. The concerts will feature performances from Mick Jones from The Clash, Pete Wylie of The Mighty Wah!, The Farm and other guest yet to be announced. The gigs are in memory of the 96 Liverpool fans that lost their lives April 15th 1989 and for their families who are still actively seeking justice.
