After nearly 20 years Ant and Dec have reached the number one spot with their single Let’s Get Ready to Rumble. The Geordie duo had a number 9 hit with the song when they started performing as PJ & Duncan AKA Ant and Dec as their roles in BBC teen drama Byker Grove came to an end. The song was performed on their TV program Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and has subsequently taken the number one spot.
Lil Wayne has been hospitalised on a few occasions recently after having suffered with having a few seizures. The rapper has now revealed that the cause of the seizures is epilepsy. For more information about epilepsy please visit www.epilepsy.org.uk.
My Chemical Romance have announced details of their split this week. They announced their split on Twitter and details of a parting gift to fans Gerard Way has created graphic novel chronicling the bands last album, the graphic novel will be called Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys.
Producer Phil Ramone has passed away. The music producer who has worked with Madonna, Billy Joel and Elton John (to name but a few) died after being hospitalised last month with an aortic aneurism.
Influential music journalist Paul Williams has died. As a writer he was known to write for Rolling Stone magazine but was also the creator of Crawdaddy! magazine. He died due to a brain aneurism.
Foxygen have announced that they have cancelled their European tour dates citing creative health as the reason. The band issued the following statement: “We have some unfortunate news. We have to cancel our upcoming EU dates for May/June and upcoming EU summer festival dates. We’d like apologise to all our European fans and supporters. We know this causes frustration and headaches for ticket buyers and promoters alike. We assure you this is ultimately for the creative health of the band. We will back in EU soon and promise to make this up to all of you. Please understand. Thank you again, all of you. Your time, attention and support mean the world to us. Love, Foxygen.”

Kings of Leon’s new album will be due for release in September. No further details have been announced as of yet but watch this space.
Johnny Borrell will be releasing solo material this month. The Razorlight frontman has announced that Razorlight have been put on hold whilst he explores solo music.
Vampire Weekend have delayed the release date of their new album. Modern Vampires of the City was due for release May 7th 2013 but the band has postponed its release by one week.
Alex Turner is set to appear on Queens of the Stone Age’s new album. The album – Like Clockwork – will also feature Dave Grohl and the Scissor Sisters among others.
Spectrals have announced details of a new album. Their second album will be called Sob Story and will feature 12 new recordings.
Dionne Warwick has had to file for bankruptcy. The singer is reported to owe the government over £6million in unpaid taxes.
