Canadian rockers Rush are set to be honoured with their own customary stamp. The band were recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame.
Backstreet’s Back, Alright! No, we are not joking. The Backstreet Boys are working on new material for a new album set to be called In A World Like This. Kevin Richardson, who previously departed the band is now back for the new album. The new record is due for release at the end of July.
Cian Ciaran of Super Furry Animals has released details of his second upcoming solo album. They Are Nothing Without Us is due for release mid-September.
Courtney Love has promised a new album by Christmas; the new album Died Blonde’s release is seto for the same time as the release of her memoirs.
Babyshambles have revealed that the artwork for their new album The Sequel to the Prequel was designed by Damien Hirst. The twelve track album will be released early in September.
Nine Inch Nails have caused controversy by using actual blood on the design of their new album cover. The album will have four different designs which have been created out of many materials besides blood yet it has still caused some upset. What do you think? Artistic license? Danny O’Donoghue has followed in the footsteps of fellow judge Jessie J and quit the BBC talent show The Voice. Danny made the following announcement via Twitter “I had two wonderful seasons on The Voice and as everybody knows I gave it my heart and soul and couldn’t be more proud of the show and what we have achieved. Glee Star, 31 year old Cory Monteith’s death has been ruled as an accidental overdose. A lethal cocktail of alcohol and narcotics led to his untimely death. Monteith was found dead in a Vancouver hotel on the 14th July 2013.
Harvard University has established a hip-hop fellowship in honour of musician Nas. The fund will aid and assist scholars and artists.
Rumours have been circulating that Beady Eye and Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has fathered a secret love child with celebrity journalist Liza Ghorbani.
John Lydon has been honoured with a BMI Icon award. John ‘Johnny Rotten’ Lydon has been selected for the award due to his contribution to music.
Jay Z has dropped the hyphen he formally used in his name. At the current time we are unsure as to the significance that this will have on the rapper or his music but we wish him hyphen-less luck.
In other Jay Z news, the rapper travelled through England this week to view the original Magna Carta, a play on which he used for the title of his current album.

John Cooper Clarke has been awarded an honorary degree from the University of Salford.
In light of the success of Record Store Day a new event has been created. Cassette Store Day is an event which is set to preserve the history of the cassette tape. The event will take place on September 7th and will include instore performances and limited edition releases of music specifically for the event.
