A biography of the late Johnny Ramone is set to be released. The guitarist in one of the most influential punk bands started writing the book when he became ill with prostate cancer. It has been eight years since the Johnny Ramone (real name John Cummings) died and currently only one member of the original line up survives.
Troubled singer Sinead O’Connor has entered hospital to help her deal with depression. The Irish singer has been making headlines recently with her on again/off again marriage.
Details of a concert have been announced to honour the late Amy Winehouse. The proceeds of the concert will go the The Amy Winehouse Foundation, the charity set up by her father Mitch after her death. It has been rumoured that both Lily Allen and Jessie J have already signed up to perform.
Don McLean and the Dubliners have won a lifetime achievement awards. BBC2 Folk Radio honoured the Irish band due to over 50 years playing traditional and recognisable Irish music. Don McLean is most famous for his hit song American Pie.
