Baddies have split up. The band released two albums in their career; Do The Job in 2009 and Build in 2012. The band released this statement on their Facebook page – “It is with heavy heart and a lump in our collective throat that we announce Baddies are splitting up. We’re all still great friends/family but it has become an ongoing struggle that’s too difficult to continue with. Thankyou and goodnight.”
The original Sugababes line-up has reformed however this time it is under a different moniker. The band is now going under the name of Mutya Keisha Siobhan. The original Sugababes have no legal rights to the original name as it is still being used by the current formation of the band.
June Brown who plays Dot Cotton on the soap opera Eastenders is set to release a single. She is offering the vocals on the single of her godson, Tim Arnold.
Bikini Kill launch their own record label called Bikini Kill Records. The band is also planning to re-release some songs from their back catalogue. The band issued the following statement “As our 25th anniversary approaches, Bikini Kill has decided to start our own record label called Bikini Kill Records. Bikini Kill’s Self-Titled EP will come out in the fall of 2012 to commemorate the 20 year anniversary of its original release. We also plan to re-release our original demo tape, which contains songs that were previously unavailable and/or hard to find on vinyl & CD. We are currently going through our archive, which include photographs, practice tapes, live recordings, unreleased songs, films, video, writing, interviews, zines and flyers that we intend to feature on future releases and document on our website.”
Pete Doherty has been kicked out of the rehab in Thailand that he checked himself into less than three weeks ago for being disruptive towards other patients
Drew McConnell who has been the bassist with Pete Doherty’s band Babyshambles is set to tour with The Vaccines, he will be temporarily filling in for The Vaccines current bassist Arni Hjorvar.
