Amy Winehouse was found dead at her Camden home. Police were called and pronounced the singer dead on the scene. The 27 year old had previously battled depression along with drug and alcohol abuse however the death has not been as of yet been reasoned as this and is still under investigation. Amy Winehouse released two albums in her short lived career Frank (2003) and Back To Black (2006) and won a plethora of awards for her songwriting ability – most notably Winehouse won an Ivor Novello for her stunning song Love is a Losing Game. As Born Blonde tried to hold the launch party for their debut single Solar the police shut the night down. It is said that the guest list only audience was over capacity for the venue (a secret location in London). At 3.30am just as the band were getting into the set the police officers pulled the plug on the music. Arthur Delany, Singer with Born Blonde has issued this statement. “We were just about to start our set and a girl came over and said she thought we might have to wait as the police had arrived. We managed to get onstage and bang out our set and it seemed like we might have got away with it, but as we all know, the police don’t like people to have fun, and they came back at about three to shut things down. It was a shame as we all had a lot left in the tank, but were philosophical about it all as the best parties always end in that way. I think next month we’ll invite them down to party with us, show them a good time, and perhaps things might be able to go on a bit longer. We shall see!” The single Solar is now available.
