Album News

Queens of the Stone Age has divulged information about their new album. The album will be called Like Clockwork and will be released in the summer. The album apparently will include collaborations with Trent Reznor, Elton John and Mark Lanegan.

Sigur Ros have announced details of their new album. Kveikur will be released in Jun, ahead of their November tour.

Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett are planning to record a jazz album in the summer.

Courtney Love and Elton John are rumoured to be featured on the new Fall Out Boy album. The album is due for release April 15th 2013.

Swim Deep’s debut album is due for release in July. It will be called Where the Heaven Are We.

The National are due to release their sixth album in May. The new album Trouble Will Find Me will feature 13 tracks.

Kings of Leon are set to release a career spanning box set. It will feature all five of the bands albums plus a DVD of the band performing live.

Rod Stewart will be releasing an album filled with original tracks. This will be the first original release in 20 years.

The Replacements are set to release their first album in 23 years.

Girls Aloud Officially Split

Girls Aloud finished their tour this week. The band has officially split up. The band released a statement regarding their split: “Dear Alouders, we just want to say from the bottom of our hearts Thank you!! This tour has been an amazing experience and the perfect chance to say thank you for being on this journey with us through a decade. It has far exceeded any of our dreams and we hope we are forever your inspiration and reminder that dreams really do glitter!! Your love and support will stay with us forever but we have now come to the end of our incredible time together. Love you lots.”

Amy Winehouse Tribute

A statue has been carved of the late Amy Winehouse and will be unveiled in 2014. The statue will be erected in Camden, the borough of London that Winehouse lived. Winehouse’s father Mitch has issued the following statement about the statue: “September 14, 2014 at the Roundhouse in Camden Town, we’ll be unveiling Amy’s statue…it will be accompanied by a concert. So far, the support from stars has been incredible. We want to make it like a Live Aid type concert where we get maybe four, five, six hours’ worth. People doing a couple of songs each. Obviously that involves a lot of people.”

Power to Play Lennon

John Power of The La’s will be playing John Lennon in a stage adaption of Lennon’s life. The musical Lennon was created by Rob Eaton and will be performed in Liverpool’s Royal Court Theatre.
