Beyonce Caught Lip Syncing

Beyonce has caused controversy this week by lip syncing her performance during President Obama’s second inauguration ceremony. Beyonce was due to sing the national anthem live but used a backing track instead. What are your thoughts on this? Should Beyonce have sung live? Is it a big deal? Adele Achieves Billboard Centenary

Adele’s album 21 has received the Billboard Centenary award having lasted in the Billboard charts for 100 weeks. Congratulations to Adele.

Dave Grohl Joins New Band

Dave Grohl of Nirvana, Foo Fighters and Them Crooked Vultures fame has joined a new band. RDGLDGRN is the name of the band and Grohl plays drums on the band’s debut album.

Baby Joy for Shakira

Shakira and her partner Gerard Pique welcomed their first child into the world on the 22nd January 2013. They called the baby Milan Piqué Mebarak.

Album News

Iggy and The Stooges have completed recording their new album Ready To Die. The band has managed to get a lot of famous faces to appear on the album such as Johnny Depp and Patti Smith.

The Darkness has announced that they will release a new album in 2014. It will be the first album in seven years to be released from the band.

Sigor Ros has announced details of a new album. The – as of yet – unnamed album is set to be released this year. The band will also be playing this year’s Coachella festival.

British Sea Power’s fifth album Machineries of Joy will be available April 1st. The album is released ahead of their upcoming tour.

The long awaited album from Justin Timberlake has been given a release date. The 20/20 Experience will be available from March 19th.

Kyle Hyde, the frontman with Underworld is set to release a solo album. Edgeland will be released 22nd April 2013.

Eve is set to release her first album in 11 years. The new album will be called Lip Lock and will be released in May.

Depeche Mode has promised that their new album, the first one from the band in four years will be released in May. Delta Machine will be in the shops for you to buy then.

Neon Neon’s new album Praxis Makes Perfect is due for release in April.

Wire are set to release a new album Change Becomes Us on March 25th.

Festival News

There has been a lot of news regarding festivals this week. Coachella 2013 has announced that Stone Roses and Blue will be headlining the San Diego festival, although music fans have admitted that they are unsure who the Stone Roses are.

Heavy Fest has secured a musical coup as Black Flag has reformed to play the festival in 2013. It will be the first time in 30 years that the band has played in the UK.

Rihanna will be playing a special set for ticket holders of Open’er Festival. The set will take place before the official opening of the festival.

Fleetwood Mac has quashed any rumours that they will be performing at this year’s Glastonbury festival by announcing live dates in the US.

Isreal’s Lollapalooza has been cancelled for 2013.
