Lily Allen has given birth to a baby girl. The LDN singer had her pregnancy revealed during her wedding toast earlier this year. Allen has previously suffered two miscarriages.
JLS, One Direction and The Risk have teamed up together to release a record during the festive period. All the bands taking part in the charity single are all X-Factor contestants that did not win their respective year. In most cases the failed contestants have tended to be more successful than the shows winner. The coveted Christmas number one spot is usually won by the winner of the X-Factor but could it be an upset this year by being won by X-Factor rejects? We will have to wait and see. Proceeds from Wishing On A Star will go to Together For Short Lives charity.
Stacey Solomon is set to release a cover version of Driving Home For Christmas. Originally a hit for Chris Rae, Solomon’s version features of the advert for supermarket chain Iceland of which she is the face of. This is another ex-X-Factor runner up set to release a festive song, vying for the Christmas number one spot.
George Michael has had to pull out of a handful of his shows in Vienna due to contracting a bout of pneumonia. The dates cancelled during his current tour are likely to be rescheduled for a later date. Further information will be given when available.
Photographer Terry Richardson has released a book chronicling his time spent with Lady Gaga, taking photographs day and night of the quirky and intriguing chanteuse. Terry Richardson has worked as a musician, music video director and photographer and the pictures are said to show Lady Gaga at her best and worst moments.
In other Lady Gaga news, the singer has released a four track Christmas EP. The EP comes as a surprise with little to none promotion of its release. The songs listed include Gaga’s rendition of Bing Crosby’s White Christmas and also a sumptuous acoustic version of Edge of Glory.
Elbow are set to provide the soundtrack to the 2012 Olympics. Frontman Guy Garvey had this to say about the collaboration, “We are knocked out to be involved and it’s been quite a challenge. We have feelings of real responsibility as we will be the soundtrack to so many images of personal sacrifice and endeavour while the nation roots for and celebrates with Team GB.”
Stars such as Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon will be sharing a stage with Coldplay and Tinie Tempah among many other artists for a benefit concert in aid of the Charity Kids Company. The event will be held December 10th at o2 Arena in Greenwich. The Founder of the Charity Kids Company Camila Batmanghelidjh had this to say about this year’s event, “Coldplay’s continuing support is fantastic. They have already provided funds to help thousands of children who have suffered violence and neglect. How amazing that they are now being joined by other generous friends for Under 1 Roof, to establish what we hope will become a regular event, generating vital support for many more children in years to come.” Tickets for the event are available via www.gigsandtours.com.

Movie producer Graham King is set to make a biopic about Queen frontman Freddie Mercury and has already named Sacha Baron Cohen as the ma to play Freddie Mercury. Sacha Baron Cohen made his name playing satirical characters such as Ali G and Borat, the question remains can he bring to life the magnanimous character of Freddie Mercury?
Another entry vying for the Christmas number one spot comes from rapper Shimm1 whose Christmas single Both Sides is being released in aid of Barnardo’s with the aim to raise £100k and awareness of the charity.
It has been announced that Robin Gibb is currently battling liver cancer. The 61 year old singer has had to cancel several live dates this year due to poor health. We hope Robin Gibb gets better quickly and offer our best wishes.
A must have for all fans of The Kinks. This year saw a release of the 10 CD Boxset in stunning packaging which includes the first seven LP’s ever released by The Kinks on CD recorded in mono; these include Kinks, Kinda Kinks, Kontroversy, Face To Face, Something Else, Village Green Preservation Society and Arthur. Further to that it includes the EP’s Kinksize Session, Kinksize Hits, Kweyt Kinks, Dedicated Kinks; it also has two discs of rarities entitled The Kinks Mono Kollectables. Accompanying all of this is a 32 page booklet. It really is a stunning release and a perfect gift for Christmas.
