Davy Jones, the lead singer of 60s pop group The Monkees has passed away. Jones suffered from a heart attack at his home in Florida. Public memorials will be held in England and in New York. The funeral service will be held in Florida. Since his death there has been a massive increase in the bands spotify playing, an increase of 3000%.
This years’ NME Awards took place on the o2 Brixton Academy this week. The best of British Indie stepped out for the event which saw some shocking performances and some deserving winners. See below for the full list of winners.

Rap group Cypress Hill have led a march in America extolling the positive impacts of Marijuana use for medicinal purposes. The use of the drug has previously been legalised in 16 American states.
Cee Lo Green will be embarking on a residential stay in Las Vegas’s Planet Hollywood casino. The Fuck You singer has promised a spectacular show with showgirls and pyrotechnics. His residency will start in August 2012.
Monica and Brandy are set to reunite on Brandy’s new album. The first time that the singers recorded a duet was in 1998 on their Grammy winning hit The Boy Is Mine.
Wilson Philips are set to release a 20th Anniversary album. The Hold On singers have revealed that the album will include cover versions from artists such as The Beach Boys and Mamas and the Papas.
