Oxjam Oxford has announced some of the bands who will be playing this year’s festival. So far playing the event are Family Machine, The Yarns, Evening Hymns, Empty White Circles, Robots with Souls and Black Hats among a plethora of other bands and artists. They will be playing under the headline act Fixers. Tickets are already on sale and cost just £7 so make sure you get yours as soon as possible. They can be purchased at We Got Tickets.
Severe weather has meant that this year’s Lollapalooza festival had to be closed mid event. The Chicago based festival first ensured the safety of the patrons but have re-arranged for the bands to play.
Twenty-six teenagers were hospitalised before attending a Wiz Khalifa gig in New York due to alcohol related illness. Ironically, the intoxicated youths were headed to see a show from the aptly named Under the Influence of Music tour.
Jason Noble of the band Rodan has died. The singer and guitarist lost his three year battle with cancer on August 4th; whilst it wasn’t the cancer that killed him it is believed a medication he was using led to Noble having a heart attack.
A fan of Nickleback tried to sneak into their show in New York this week. Kevin Beaudette, the 22 year old fan didn’t manage to get into the gig but did however fall down a 40ft gorge. MTTM would recommend that next time Nickleback are playing, Beaudette should just buy a ticket.
Snoop Dogg has been banned from Norway for two years. The ban comes after the rapper was caught trying to bring marijuana into Norway before his performance at a Norwegian festival. Snoop Dogg has reportedly said he is ok with the ban. We have to wonder if the ban applies to Snoop Lion too.
Poison’s Bret Michael is rumoured to be writing a movie about his life. The biopic is said to be a big budget film going through all the major events of his life and ending at his near death experience during heart surgery last year.
A Tenacious D gig in Las Vegas had to be abandoned mid set as an altercation in the crowd broke out leaving a man hospitalised with a stab wound. This seems to be a growing trend in gigs of late, recently a plethora of stabbings happened at several Swedish House Mafia gigs.
Billy Talent’s fourth album Dead Silence is set to be released September 14th. Ellie Goulding is releasing her second album, Halcyon, in October. Love her or hate her but Rhianna sure does bang out the albums. She is working on her seventh album with David Guetta. We could be getting a new Robbie Williams solo album sooner than we expected. The Take That singer has revealed that the album is nearly finished and he is just currently choosing which songs to include. Pet Shop Boys will be releasing their eleventh studio album, Elysium, in September. Sad news for Muse fans. The band have delayed the release of their new album The 2nd Law until October. Beyonce is reportedly back in the studio working on her next album.
Singer Tony Martin (born Alvin Morris) has died aged 98. The crooner, famous for songs such as I Get Ideas, To Each His Own and There’s No Tomorrow died at his home in Los Angeles.

A 24 year old man has died at this year’s Global Gathering festival. As of yet, the details of the deceased’s identity has not been revealed; the cause of death has not been revealed either.
An exhibition of work by The Horrors frontman Faris Rotter will open at The Strand Gallery in September. The exhibition entitled Creatures in Colour: Sketchbooks from Faris Badwan can be viewed from September the 18th until September 30th.
Jaz Coleman, the singer with Killing Joke has been reported missing. The band are scheduled to tour in September and have promised to try and maintain those dates however their primary concern is to find their missing singer.
Carl Barat. Barat recently joined the band on stage when they performed at London venue, Proud. It has now been announced that he will perform with the band for the foreseeable future.
Channel 4 has teamed up with David Attenborough and Icelandic pop Icon Bjork for a documentary called Attenborough and Bjork: The Nature of Music. The documentary will explore the evolution of music.
No Use For A Name singer Tony Sly has died. He was 41. The cause of death has not yet been revealed.
Professor Green has been angering people via twitter this week. He has reportedly called Kristen Stewart a “Slutbag” due to her recent philandering. He has also angered groups in support of people with eating disorders as he brandished bulimia as an “intelligent eating disorder.” Professor Green tried to cushion the backlash by arguing that he has OCD but finds jokes about OCD “funny”.
