UB40 Cancel Tour

UB40 have issued a statement of apology to fans as they have had to cancel their UK tour due to drummer Jimmy Brown sustaining repetitive strain injury. The statement reads: “UB40 are deeply sorry for the inconvenience this will cause their fans. The band had been looking forward to these shows all summer but, as his treatment continues, Jimmy has been advised not to play for the foreseeable future.” Ticket holders can obtain a full refund.

Hammersmith Apollo Reopens

London’s Hammersmith Apollo has reopened this week after a £5 million refurbishment. The venue is now called Eventim Apollo.

Album News

Azaelia Banks has revealed her denut album will be available in January. The album – Broke with Expensive Taste – was due for release in September 2012 but was delayed by over two years.

Cliff Richard is due to release his 100th album in November. To quote Cliff Richard “Congratulations…”

Loretta Lynn has announced that she would like to work alongside Jack White on another album.

Alison Goldfrapp Exhibition

Alison Goldfrapp is currently curating an art exhibition in Salford’s Lowry Gallery. Goldfrapp are releasing their new album Tales of Us this week.

Are Bon Iver Over?

Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon fuelled rumours this week that the band are now defunct. He claimed he is no longer writing music. However, the band’s label Jagjaguwar have denied these claims.

U2 Bassist Married

Adam Clayton, the bassist with U2, married his model fiancé Mariana Teixeira in France. Congratulations to the couple.
