Preview: 2000 Trees Festival 2017

July 6th is nearly upon us, marking 2000 Trees’ return to Upcote Farm in the stunning Cotswold countryside. The friendly festival is back for the eleventh time, and with sets across five stages from some of the finest fan favourites and specially selected up and coming acts that you may or may not have heard of; it’s going to be bigger and better than ever before.

The festival is well known for supporting and showcasing some of the UK’s best alternative talent, so it seems only fitting that this year it is going to be headlined by some of the finest rock acts that Britain currently has to offer. 2016 veterans Mallory Knox are back to headline on Thursday, while the festival plays host to double headliners on the other two days; with Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes and Nothing But Thieves headlining on the Friday, and Lower Than Atlantis and Slaves closing on Saturday.

With four main stages across the festival site and an intimate forest sessions stage, there is something for everyone to check out. On the Thursday, you can expect to see full blown sets in the Axiom and The Cave from the likes of Young Guns, Pulled Apart By Horses, Muncie Girls and Grumble Bee. Also, if you enjoy your comedy; there are a host of stand-ups on The Neu Stage, headlined by the hilarious Gary Delaney.

Friday sees Frank Turner championed band Ducking Punches open the Main Stage, followed by artists such as Black Peaks and Jamie Lenman; meanwhile Milk Teeth, Spring King and Honeyblood will all be making appearances there on Saturday.

If you enjoy your music on a smaller scale; then be sure to check out The Neu Stage and The Axiom over the course of the weekend, which will see the likes of Greywind, Vukovi, Area 11, Get Inuit and Oathbreaker all perform there. Alternatively, The Cave will offer sets from heavier acts such as Queen Kwong, Bad Sign, The One Hundred and Svalbard. The Cave is also the place to go on Friday if you are a huge Deaf Havana fan; as the band will play an entirely fan-curated set.

A jewel in the crown of the festival is their wonderful Forest Sessions stage. On this you can watch a plethora of intimate acoustic sets in a beautiful woodland surrounding. This year the magic comes from artists such as Mallory Knox, Black Foxxes, Nothing But Thieves and Hundred Reasons; so be sure to visit this amazing part of the festival site.

Visitors to Trees don’t just have to expect quality acts on the stage; it also boasts some fantastic food and drink to choose from, mainly provided by local companies to help keep Trees eco-friendly. If Mexican food is your thing, then be sure to check out the Smokin’ Hot Tamales’ stand, whereas if you are a cider drinker then maybe try a pint of the dangerously tasty Badger’s Bottom. Also, for those of you who enjoy a bit of escapism at a festival, then be sure to check out this year’s fancy dress competition, with the theme ‘2000 Trees on the high seas’.

Ticket prices start at £50 for a day ticket, or £90 for a two day ticket; but with less than 1000 tickets left for the event, then you’d better get your skates on if you’re planning on attending.
