For more than 50 years Cambridge Folk Festival has been a jewel in the crown of the folk world, and this year proves no different. Boasting an eclectic line up of both rising stars and some of the finest names in folk music the first additions give a flavour of what to expect for 2015.

Most notably (and unlike some other festivals) the mix of female and male stars is balanced, with the likes of Joan Armatrading, Joan Baez and Gretchen Peters nestling up against Frank Turner, Nick Mulvey and the John Butler Trio. Representing the emerging talent the likes of Keston Cobblers Club return for a higher billing, whilst Passenger move up from their Den Stage slot, and Folk Award nominees Josienne Clarke & Ben Walker get a double slot on both Thursday and Friday. With the likes of Peggy Seeger, Stornoway and the Amsterdam Klezmer Band XL also making the list, it’s this mix of artists which really marks Cambridge apart, highlighting its ability to bring talent from around the world which appeals to both younger and older audience alike.
