Hi! Slam Dunk Festival is just over two weeks away now. What are you most looking forward to about it?

We are looking forward to playing our first shows of 2018. We’ve taken the longest road break that we’ve ever done, and it feels like a long six months.

You have played the festival several times before. What was your favourite thing about Slam Dunk from previous years?

It’s been great to see the festival grow and learn and retain it’s independent spirit throughout the success.

You are playing on the Fireball stage throughout the weekend. What can fans expect from your set?

A strong sense of oneness and affinity with the universe. A reassurance that you are The Chosen One.

Marcia has guested with other bands including Goldfinger and Reel Big Fish, who are also playing on the Fireball Stage. Do you think that you’ll be making any surprise appearances during any of the other band’s sets?

If I told you it wouldn’t be a surprise! But probably not… I dunno, maybe. Probably not. These are things never prepared. We see what the vibe is saying.

As you know, Slam Dunk is split into three legs each year – North, South and Midlands. Which audience do you think will be the craziest?

Up north are the OGs when it comes to Slam Dunk, but it depends on the weather too. Midlands by their nature are crazy, but South can run past themselves when the sun’s out. We shall see.

Last year you toured across Europe, USA, Canada and Japan. Where is your favourite place that you played at in 2017?

Japan was wild and so was the Summer US/Canada tour… We did a lot of shows! Tokyo might just take it, on the new experience one.

2017 also saw you completing the touring campaign of your 2015 album FM. Are you working on a new album now and can you tell us anything about it?

Yes we are, and no I can’t.

You already have some tour dates other than Slam Dunk announced for this year, including a support slot with NOFX in London in June and Boomtown Fair in the Summer. What can we expect from those gigs and are there any more dates to be announced soon?

Expect more of The Chosen One feeling that I mentioned earlier, and yes, we’re adding more dates all the time.

If you could choose any four artists living or dead to headline your own festival, who would you choose?

Prince, Nirvana, Stevie Wonder and Biggie Smalls.

What are your plans as a band for the rest of the year?

Some more group activities like watching films together, or maybe a book club. We need to do more yoga as a band for sure.
