Established in 2005, Wychwood Festival repeatedly boasts an eclectic line up to suit all tastes. With headline slots from Justine Currie (of Del Amitri), The Lightning Seeds and Seth Lakeman respectively, and other music coming from The Levellers, The Happy Mondays, 6 Day Riot and The Travelling Band, this year is set to prove why Wychwood is one of the most successful independent festivals in the South.
Aside from a cracking music line up, the festival is also host to a comedy stage in conjunction with eFestivals, whose stage this year will be graced with the likes of Robin Ince and Ray Peacock. Whilst the younger book lovers will be treated to the second Kid’s Literature Festival (in association with The University of Worcester) with authors Philip Ardagh and Linda Chapman already being confirmed for the bill.
Further afield, the festival also hosts a range of workshop tents. With Music, Making, Dance, Meadow and Performance venues, workshops hosted by the likes of The English National Ballet and The Roald Dahl Museum and a variety of activities from storytelling and science experiments, to Samba and belly dancing, there promises to be something for everyone.
This year’s festival will also see the launch of a new partnership with Waitrose and Karen Himsworth, Manager of Waitrose Events, says:
“We are delighted to announce our partnership with Wychwood Festival – billed as the UK’s leading boutique, family festival…We hope to add a little extra something to this year’s festival experience, and look forward to announcing details of what will be available from Waitrose over the weekend in due course.”
Held at Cheltenham Racecourse, Wychwood Festival takes place this year from the 4th – 6th June. Adult weekend tickets are priced at £110 and day tickets are also available.
